Almost there but still working out a CSS bug with IE, as usual. Firefox and Safari aren't having any issues. So I guess tomorrow I'll be working on the style sheet and making everything prettier. I liked the layout and look of the old site but it's fun to work on new ideas.

Still tweaking. I'm going to change the header image which gives me a good excuse to go out and take better pictures with my fancy camera I got for Christmas! Some of the graphics right now are just fillers too until I create new ones. I also added recaptcha, which are those hard to read annoying words you have to type to verify you're a real person. It helps prevent spambots from registering or commenting on the site. Once I get all that done, probably by the end of the week, I can go back to writing and making a new video of something, anything so my YouTube feed is updated with something new.

There's a few little bugs to work out, mostly cosmetic, especially with Internet Explorer. (Hate that browser!) But I do have a social login system installed now! Users will be able to register and comment on the site using their Facebook or Twitter account. I also plan to add Google and Yahoo. Your Facebook profile picture will not show up next to your comments either, if you used Facebook to login.

It's coming along...I need to tweak the stylesheet and do a few more things to have the layout the way I want it. Boy I haven't added a new video in a long time! I see my old buddy Minnie is the featured video on my YouTube Channel. I miss her. :( I have a new dalmatian now but their personalities are totally different. They couldn't be more opposite but I'm glad because that means Minnie was truly one of kind.

It sure will be a beautiful ride. Decatur is a very pretty city when you take a good look. I'll probably be trying it.

Park, thanks for the info. I don't know how I missed that!

Here's what I submitted:

"I'd just like to say how impressed I am with the Adventure Fitness Concept. It all looks wonderful and would be a great draw to the community and reduce or eliminate the need for residential development along the shores, which many people object to. I'm not personally against any and all residential development but I'd prefer it be contained or minimal. I'd also like to see the mini-golf course modernized and expanded. The adventure park could be something transformative for Decatur for many years to come.

I do want to make the suggestion that there be an emphasis on activities for people of all age groups, from the youngest to the oldest and that the facilities be accessible and affordable for the entire community. I especially like the idea of the animated boardwalk and trails. That's something everyone can enjoy regardless of income or age.

The healing garden in Chandler Park is also a great use for that property. Situated across from St. Mary's Hospital, it would be a natural fit and inexpensive to create and maintain.

Looking forward to the next step!"

I didn't realize it but the Adventure Theme doesn't have any residential development in it. That may be a plus to some people who object to such a proposal. Like I said, I'm not 100% opposed to some residential development because I think it would attract more population to Decatur and be an ongoing revenue generator. However, I'd prefer the apartments over the condos. They could have some swanky apartments to appeal to the higher income folks and less expensive ones for the rest of us. :-)

You don't have to be jealous - just come on over! I do hope the city gets more bike paths throughout the city in the future but it takes time. This path has been in the works for years. It took a long time just getting the property easements. I think they're starting to work on it right now. I saw stakes in the ground where I think the path is going to be off of Westlawn. It'll be a beautiful ride or walk through there in the Fall.
